Ravnica
I have obviously spent an inordinate amount of time talking about Magic the Gathering in this blog. If I thought for half a second that anyone actually read this, I might actually be embarassed by the level of geekhood that I am displaying.
That being said, I can't tell you how much I love the new set that was released: Ravnica, City of Guilds. I have several decks that I have built, but there is one deck of which I am particularly proud. It is built around the Dark Confidant, a card which I was highly skeptical of before using it.
When I first saw the card, I figured using it was a death sentence. All it would take was one or two big cards getting turned over and it would kill the user. But I put in two copies to see how they worked. Well, let me tell you...they were so good that I put in two more copies and changed the structure of the deck to take advantage of them.
The deck is primarily Black, with a splash of Green. The vast majority of the cards have a converted mana cost of 2, to allow the Dark Confindant to work his wonders and allow for tutoring with the transmute feature of Shred Memory.
